WHY CHECK OUT CASUALKAi?

Casualkai's music can be described as a combination of crafted song writing, honest searching lyrics and melodic harmony driven rock. Their diverse sound and energetic live performances explain why they have created such a buzz around the North East.

"The CD is yet another excellent piece of work from Casualkai showing again that you don't need a battery of Marshall Stacks to make powerful songs. Of course you might need brilliant song writing, amazing vocal work and classy playing and this band have it all..."

"Casualkai E.P" North East Music - FS, July 2005.

BACKGROUND:

Casualkai have a fusion of styles - maybe this is not surprising as the four band members all come from the practical extremities of England: with Lee and Joff originating from the North East, Nick calling Plymouth home and Jon bridging the gap in Mansfield.

Nick and Lee met while studying music at Hull University in 1998 where their passion for creative song writing inevitably meant they began to write powerful heartfelt songs. Their influences include: Pink Floyd, Tom Petty, Crowded House, Del Amitri, Coldplay, Paul Weller and John Lennon amongst many others.

After completing their Degrees, the Gladdish/Brown partnership re-located further North to Newcastle in 2002, where they began playing Acoustic Gigs. Then in Winter 2003, Jon Jarvis stepped up as the band's Bassist/Guitarist and played his first Gig early the following year. Finally, in July 2004, Jonathan "Joff" Fortune became the final piece of the jigsaw by becoming the band's Drummer/Percussionist, subsequently the Casualkai sound formed.

Vocalist Nick says "there is no one writer in Casualkai, the Band views itself as a collective of four ambitious song writers and performers.

Casualkai have two Albums and three EP's worth of recorded material under their belt.
